Lagos State House Of assembly Has Impeached Mudashiru Obasa As Speaker, Elects Mojisola Meranda As First Female Speaker

The removal comes barely a month after Obasa was accused of allegedly spending N17 billion to fix a gate that leads to the assembly including other multiple fraudulent allegations. 

The lawmakers afterward elected Mojisola Meranda,the representative of Apapa Constituency I, as the new speaker.

Meranda,took her oath of office immediately, She's the first female speaker of the Lagos legislature.

Mojeed Fatai is now the Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly

Mudashiru Obasa has been speaker of the Lagos state house of assembly since 2015.
